Wisdom Gaming Selected as Exclusive Partner for NA Wild Rift Series Season One Tournament

BLOOMINGTON, MN - JANUARY 24th - Wisdom Gaming, the emerging leader in esports media, today announced its continued partnership with Riot Games for Season One of the 2022 Wild Rift North American Series (WNS). Wisdom Gaming will oversee operations and broadcast on behalf of Riot Games leading up to the North American Regional Championship in April 2022. The company also announced plans to further its commitment to the growing NA Wild Rift space by launching a podcast series and bi-weekly Fight Night event, under its Giant Slayer brand, in the coming weeks.

The WNS tournament format features three circuits and a Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ), all culminating in the $150,000 North American Regional Championship in April. Each circuit consists of two open qualifiers across four days, with eight total teams qualifying into the corresponding Major. The three Majors will see teams battle through a double-elimination bracket for six of the eight total spots at the Regional Championship. Following all three Majors will be the LCQ, where the top two placing teams will claim the final remaining spots at the Regional Championship. Qualifying teams at the Regional Championship will compete for a chance to represent North America at the Wild Rift Icons Global Championship.

“Wisdom Gaming is proud to once again partner with Riot Games for the first WNS season, further supporting the continued development for North American Wild Rift esports,” said Jaycie Gluck, Vice President of Media, Wisdom Gaming. “Following the success of last year’s Summoner Series, the Wild Rift NA community has been eager to see more in the space, and we’re committed to establishing a bright future for Wild Rift esports by growing both the community and competitive scenes.”

“We are excited to be continuing our partnership with Wisdom Gaming and utilizing their talents to deliver an exceptional Wild Rift NA tournament for the community,” said Chad Smeltz, Product Lead, Wild Rift Esports of NA/OCE, Riot Games. “Wisdom has successfully created a seamless, integrity-driven competitive experience for our players in our inaugural event, and we are confident that they will continue to provide that for the first season of WNS.”

As a part of Wisdom Gaming’s commitment to the Wild Rift NA space, the company will be introducing a brand new podcast series, titled ‘Rift Reload,’ and Fight Night: Rift, a bi-weekly Wild Rift event, both under Wisdom’s Giant Slayer brand. Both new projects aim to create a place to develop NA talent and further service the growing community with discussions and content. More details, including talent and premiere dates, to follow in the coming weeks.
